Clear, relevant, and legally compliant governance policies are essential for tax exempt status compliance and smooth daily operations at nonprofits. Lawyers Alliance for New York is happy to invite your organization to participate in a limited scope consultation to ensure that your bylaws and conflict of interest policies are clear, relevant, and legally compliant.
During this clinic, we will be prioritizing the placement of nonprofits that are member of the College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY). However, all groups that are doing programming to increase college access and/or career readiness are welcome to register.
Please register as soon as possible as spots are limited.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
A board member, executive director, or senior manager of the nonprofit. Nonprofits must have 501(c)(3) status and be incorporated in New York or Delaware to participate.
SCHEDULE
Orientation & Training: Via Zoom, March 25th, 10:00-10:30AM
Legal Consultation: Via Zoom to be scheduled by the legal volunteers between March 25th and April 1st at a mutually convenient time for volunteers and education clients.
As space is limited, you will be notified by email once your spot is confirmed.
